Sprint to refocus its efforts in federal and public markets

Sprint is to reinvest its market efforts with a portfolio of solutions for the federal and public market. The new solution will include wireless, wireline, security and IoT offerings over Sprint’s secure network, leveraging Sprint’s 30 years of experience in the sector. Sprint Q3 adjusted free cash flow $397 million

This is including its highest retail net additions in nearly three years with postpaid net additions of 256,000 and prepaid net additions of 63,000. The company also reported its eighth consecutive quarter of operating income and the highest fiscal third quarter adjusted EBITDA in 11 years. Net cash provided by operating activities of $1.2 billion improved by more than $500 million year-over-year. The most surprising deal of the season is AT&T’s Buy One Get One deal on the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus, when both handsets are purchased on the telecom’s Next or Next Every Year monthly payment program. Proposed bill would speed Sprint’s network buildout

A proposed House Bill could make it easier for Sprint Corp. to pump the gas on building out its wireless network. The SPEED Act (Streamlining Permitting to Enable Efficient Deployment of Broadband Infrastructure) would amend a portion of the Communications Act of 1934 to lighten regulations around permitting for communications facilities. More specifically, it would exempt certain types of telecom infrastructure from environmental review requirements by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). After almost a year of hints, Sprint’s ‘Direct Connect Plus’ PTT service from Kodiak launches

Sprint said it is now selling its new Sprint Direct Connect Plus (SDC Plus), “our next-generation push-to-talk solution, designed to give business teams the power of real-time communication with the push of a button for nationwide, one-to-one group or broadcast communications.” The new offering runs on the Kodiak PTT (push-to-talk) platform and supports Wi-Fi communications, presence information and tablet usage.
